Fair Usage Policy
Last updated: 25 July 2026
Every tool on tools.intertoons.com is free, with no paid tier to upsell you into. That only works if nobody consumes a disproportionate share of the capacity. This policy describes the limits we apply and what happens if they are exceeded. It forms part of our Terms of Use.
1. Who this is for
The Service is sized for interactive human use — a developer or marketer running checks by hand. It is not a commercial API, a monitoring backend, a bulk-enrichment pipeline or a data source for another product. If you need any of those, we'd genuinely like to help: write to info@intertoons.com.
2. Rate limits
Limits are enforced per IP address in fixed windows and reset automatically. Exceeding one
returns HTTP 429 Too Many Requests; simply wait for the window to reset. Current
limits, which we may adjust at any time:
- DNS Propagation, IP Reverse Lookup, ASN / BGP Lookup — 30 requests / minute
- Domain Availability, SSL & Headers, IP Blacklist Check, Email Security — 20 requests / minute
- Ping, Traceroute, Color Palette, Snippet Validator — 15 requests / minute
- Latency Tester — 12 requests / minute
- WHOIS Lookup, Domain Suggestions, SEO Meta Generator, Text Hosting — 10 requests / minute
- Technology Finder, AI Visibility (GEO), Image Hosting — 5 requests / minute
- PageSpeed Insights — 3 requests / minute
- TCP Port Scanner — 5 scans / 10 minutes
- Webhook Tester (inbound deliveries) — 60 requests / minute
- Lead form submissions, sign-in and registration attempts — 5–10 / 10 minutes
Tools that run entirely in your browser — the beautifiers, password generator, QR code generator, colour picker and cron builder — are not rate limited, because they never touch our servers.
3. Storage limits
- Maximum size: 10 MB per upload, for images, text and shared files alike.
- Retention: uploads are deleted automatically 7 days after creation. This is not adjustable and deleted files cannot be recovered.
- Not a CDN or backup: don't hotlink hosted files into a production website or app, and don't use the Service as your only copy of anything.
- Public by link: anyone holding a link can open it. Never upload confidential or personal data.
4. Real-time tools
Chat rooms, video calls, visitor-call sessions and webhook endpoints are ephemeral and sized for small groups. Rooms are released when the last participant leaves. Do not keep sessions or endpoints open indefinitely to reserve capacity, and do not use them as transport for an automated system.
5. What counts as abuse
These will get your access restricted:
- Scripting or scraping the tools, or calling their internal endpoints directly from your own code
- Rotating IP addresses, proxies, VPNs or accounts to defeat a rate limit
- Running scheduled or continuous checks (monitoring, cron jobs, CI pipelines) against our endpoints
- Reselling, white-labelling or embedding the Service in your own product
- Scanning, probing or port-scanning hosts you don't own or aren't authorised to test
- Bulk lookups for lead lists, email harvesting or unsolicited marketing
- Uploading malware, phishing content, or unlawful or infringing material
- Any traffic pattern that degrades the Service for other users
6. How we enforce this
Proportionate to what we see, and usually in this order:
- Throttling — a 429 response for the rest of the window. Automatic and self-clearing.
- Extended rate limiting — tighter limits on an IP or account showing sustained abusive patterns.
- Content removal — deletion of offending uploads or generated items, without notice.
- Block — an IP range, network or account blocked from the Service.
- Escalation — for attacks or illegal content, a report to the relevant hosting provider, network operator or law-enforcement authority.
We don't owe advance notice for any of these steps, and for a genuine free service we won't always be able to explain a block in detail. Automated blocks do occasionally catch legitimate users on shared or corporate NAT addresses — if that's you, email us and we'll look into it.
7. Need more than this allows?
Higher limits, a private deployment, or a proper API with an SLA are all things we can build. Intertoons does exactly this kind of work commercially. Tell us what you need at info@intertoons.com or via intertoons.com.
8. Changes
We tune these limits as traffic changes and will update this page when we do. The numbers above are current as of the date shown, and the enforcement in code is the authoritative version.
